Dude,

I always find it amazing that New Orleans pricks, that would be you, just don’t understand why most Louisianans who aren’t from Uptown or Metairie, can’t stand you folks….

There are actually many really interesting places, attractions and events that are much more enjoyable and definitely safe than spending a risky evening taking your chances one the Crescent City…

Just wanted to piggyback off this post because I had some similar questions. A group of my college friends are planning a trip this fall to go to a Saints game, and I am trying to convince them to do an LSU game the same weekend. Right now, it is looking like being the weekend of the Ole Miss game.
There will be about 15/20 guys, ages 35-40. The majority of us live in Ireland. I live in NYC. I moved to the States after college (lived in Fort Worth for just over a year, hence the TCU tag next to my name, before moving to NYC), but most of the guys are back home in Ireland. We all played American Football together in college.
The provisional plan for the trip is for people to arrive in New Orleans on the Thursday/Friday, and fly back on the Monday.

I know people have said the best way to travel from New Orleans is to drive, but..... we all plan on sampling Louisiana's finest beverages, so I don't think any of us should really drive back that night. I did see a bus service (Baton Rouge Blitz) that does a bus service the day of the game. Leaving New Orleans five hours before kickoff, and returning one hour after the game. Has anyone used this before?
This is $110 per person, which at possibly 20 people, would end up being around $2,000 total. Are there any other options that would make sense? I don't think all of the group would plan on staying in Baton Rouge, but a few of us might if it made sense. The Saints game the next day would be at 1:00pm, and we would have already paid for hotels in New Orleans.

As far as tailgating, I've heard if we walk around people are pretty welcoming, but with that many of us, we wouldn't want to completely crash/dominate someone's tailgate. What would be our best option as far as tailgating? If anyone has a big enough tailgate, we would be more than willing to bring booze/snacks!

Most of the group have been to multiple NFL games before, but most have never been to a college game. None of the group have ever been to an SEC game.
