Had Pence gone along with Trump's coup attempt it would have been a subversion of the laws and the Constitution, in service of keeping a loser in the White House after he knew he'd lost.

You do realize this isn’t an admission he did it. It is simply an argument that even if he did it wouldn’t be a crime. It is a very standard type of argument in court. It’s called arguing in the alternative.
