Someone said on here recently that LSU prefers out of state and international students.

Took forever for my son to get his acceptance for whatever reason. He applied sometime early fall, not sure what date, but just heard back about 2 weeks ago. Doesn't matter cause he picked Ole Miss over LSU anyway. My own son is now tigerbait.

I had a deployment and it wasn't until mid to late April last year when I was accepted again.

I think their acceptance rate is about 75%. I would imagine if you have halfway decent ACT score you would be fine.

This may well be but I can tell you from experience it's the same story for out of state. The incompetence in LSU admissions and student advisory is unbelievable.

LSU is not the same as it was 20 years ago.

When I went to LSU, if you were a state resident, graduated HS, and took the ACT (didn't matter what score), you were accepted. Mid 1970's.

I may have you beat. My Daughter was accepted to LSU in February with enough scholarship to more than cover our out of state tuition, she is going to A&M. We literally stood together in the Aggie student section wearing purple and gold at the last LSU game over there. It's a good school academically and it's much closer to home, but damn...A&M. I failed as a parent and my dad is mad at me, not her.

Yeh. I think you have to have a 3.3 GPA, not sure about ACT/SAT score. When I was in high school it was a 2.5 core GPA and a 21 or 23 on ACT to get in.

The average ACT for accepted Louisiana students as of about a month ago was a 28

We were making sure she had more good scores under her belt before them getting stuff. Which she did.

You need to call them. Politely ask them to get their shite together.

You may have left something out in the application and their response got lost in the mail or accidentally disposed of by someone at your house. It's not unlike them to send snail mail for critical communication.

We applied in December still have not heard. Not a yes not a no. Disappointed because when they are this age and have heard from other places and are walking around their high school and everyone is talking about where they are going. She has grown up with purple and gold blood in her but looks they she will be heading to the “sip” next year if she does not hear something soon.

LSU is terrible at keeping students in state. They basically ignore the in state students, even the top students. They have an arrogance that they expect those living in the state to want to go to LSU and do not spend any money trying to lure them to LSU. Both of my children attended college out of state because they felt that they were appreciated more. I think LSU relies too much on TOPS as their calling card.

FAFSA delays could mean they had to make delayed aid offers to other admitted students, whom they are now waiting on to make delayed decisions.
