Sorry. I lead you down a logical path, using comparisons to other states, simple things so you would understand... then I coupled it with the same comparison to this state... An analogy? And then, I added to the ending to make a point. Did the test scores comment hit close to home?

The premise of your "logical path", which seems to assume that I'm selectively offended by the jokes is false.

A) I'm not offended
B) I'm being consistent in that I find using old tropes solely for punchlines to be lazy and unfunny, and that includes the examples that you cited of Texas and California stereotypes. If somebody on SNL was doing an impersonation of Gavin Newsom and he just started making surfer references, it would suck too.
