They played basketball since 1901 and won their first championship in 1999. They were mostly absent for the entire 20th century. How is that a blueblood?
So essentially, if your first title was won within the last 50 years, it’s impossible to become a blueblood
What is the arbitrary timeframe? When UConn wins their 12th national championship in 2049, are we still gonna say they’re not a blueblood because they didn’t start racking up championships until much later than the other guys?
People should just come flat out and say it’s impossible to become a blueblood if that’s the criteria. If by the year 2050, Georgia has 12 CFB national championships to Texas’s 4, i would probably laugh at someone saying “well Georgia isn’t a blueblood like Texas!”

You have to have been relevant preferably at the beginning and at least at some point in the 20th Century.
There's new blood and blue blood.
UConn is nouveau riche...its not a pejorative, just a fact.
