Don Knotts was pretty good also. Leslie Nielsen should also be in the conversation.

There's Peter Sellers and then there is everyone else. I practically idolize Monty Python but none of them individually can hold Sellers whoopie cushion.

Nielsen backed into comedy. He started off as trying to be a normal dramatic actor, but he hit a ceiling in the mid 70s until Airplane that he did for a paycheck. He found out that he was good at comedy because he could keep a straight face and pull off the Frank Drebbin type character .

Conway was always comic.....always going for the laugh which he could always get with Harvey Kormann .....who could pull off over the top comic characters like Hedley Lamarr.
