This is a clip of an interview Grohl and Novoselic did with Conan O'Brien last year on the 30th anniversary of In Utero talking about Cobain and his legacy.

This shite makes me feel old. Kurt was just a few months older than me.

enjoyed their unplugged show.

Particularly the cover of "the man who sold the world".

I love the stories behind unplugged. Grohl had never had to play soft and during rehearsals Kurt kept getting on to him for playing too loud. At some point Grohl wondered if he even needed to play, and then one of the producers (I think) brought him a set of drum brushes, his first ever

I remember being glued to MTV watching the coverage of it right after it was announced.

Youtube

I remember this segment specifically. Skip to 5:06 to see an interview with fans. The guy who only listens to Nirvana and Screaming Trees has stuck with me for some reason

Also the 22 year anniversary of Layne Staley's death. Pretty crazy that two of the biggest icons of the Seattle grunge movement died on the same date.

Kurt wasn’t found until three days later. Layne was like three weeks he’d been dead.

I haven't seen the Nirvana one yet but that AIC unplugged show was really good. I tend to watch at least a couple of songs or so from it every time I get a few bourbon drinks in me
