It's tough to watch especially considering the SS that is in Lafayette

typical fairweather fan... get some stress in the mix and we start culling players out of the herd like wolves.

Guidry battled the Mendoza line in two consecutive fall baseball sessions and two preseasons, often losing to same. The bat has not yet translated to college ball and he was given ample opportunity to win a starting middle infield position two years in a row and has not; especially this past off-season.

To add to this, in the same 2 fall seasons he didn't hit the ball he had a 30% K rate (2022 fall) and then 40% K rate (2023 fall). Fielding he had 6 errors 2022 fall and then 2 errors 2023 fall. There is a reason he has not seen any playing time in the infield this season up to this point and that will not change all of a sudden especially in SEC play. So some of you that might have seen him play in high school just need to give that part up for now. They see his value for the team on the mound for this year.

Did you watch? Do u watch him at second? He can’t cover ground. You know, something a SS HAS to do.

I have seen Milam cover FAR into the short side of 2nd, while watching Braswell watch barely moving at all. So while you say Milam can't cover ground (an opinion I strongly disagree with) Braswell can't cover near the area Milam can.

2022 Jordan Thompson was much worse but he definitely improved the next year fielding wise. Braswell will figure it out in the field.

Have you seen Braswell run to first? He’s slow

My point exactly, along with the apparent desire to never break a sweat of dirty his uniform.

I’m not sure Milam has the arm to play short at this level. And he’s figuring out how to adjust to SEC pitching at the plate, I’m also not sure he’s ready to add everyday SS to his plate at this point either. I mean, he’s not special, but Braswell is serviceable and will be the SS for the rest of the season. Gotta come to grips with it.
