Have you experienced a lot of muscle loss?

Just a gee whiz question, at what stage of obesity are doctors prescribing this stuff? 20 pounds? 50? 100?

I didn’t really have huge muscles to begin with, my arms and legs were pretty thin, considering I weighed 260+ lbs.

As far as the prescriptions go, I understand insurances are starting to deny it for non-diabetics, because so many people are wanting on it.
I pay $22 a month for 4 shots. My wife paid $120 a shot because insurance wouldn’t cover it.

That $22 a month is quite impressive. But you are diabetic, so it makes sense. I just started it last week and am going the compounding pharmacy route as have many folks I know. I'm paying $300 per month and when my dose goes up to .5, it will be $350. Generally, the folks I know doing it for weight loss stay at the lower dosage until their weight loss slows down.

I'm pretty excited about it and I can truly understand how much it helps already. That "food noise" is just straight up gone. Like many people, I was slim when I was young. Size 4-6 even after 2 kids. Hit 35, changed jobs into an exciting (for me), but stressful one and worked a lot of yours. Changed my lifestyle along with it. No longer pulling my 3 year old around the neighborhood in the wagon, playing games outside, etc. At that point, looking back, I realize that food became my most fun part of the day and I thought about it a lot...what was for lunch (we went out a lot at work) or dinner before I worked for 2 more hours before bed. I already am not thinking about and seriously planning my next meal, about the candy jar at the admin desk outside my office, or about the crappy grocery store cupcakes that were in the cafeteria for birthdays that day. I'm not wanting an extra helping of dessert later.

I can see how this is a game changer and in my first week, no real side effects, but I am making sure to drink lots of water and am taking a probiotic fiber drink every morning when I wake up while getting ready. I'm planning on trying to go to the gym twice a week to do some weight machines. I am not very strong and hate this part, so twice a week is pretty good and I'll start walking 3 times a week, which I was doing, but not regularly.

I have about 80 pounds to lose. I'm hoping to get it done by February or March next year. I'm a 62 year old lady, btw. I have lost the weight 3 times over the last 25 years but for various reasons, I gained it back. I even ran a marathon 8 years ago. But it was about 10 pounds a year ago. I've been following all these threads for a while and hope this will help me.
