Huge. Officially excited about next year. Easily the most talent he’s had here. Need those guards to ball out. Ward to hit those 3s. And Reed and a couple other big men to play tough down low.

How does this impact portal numbers? Not many tournament teams with two starting FR guards. People won't like it, but the talent might just be too young to expect a tournament team next season.

I agree with this. I would be pleased with 20 wins and going .500 or better with conference

It's make or break in the sense that we have to at least be on the tournament bubble next year. No more 17-16 or worse

great get but the excuses have to stop now. we have the players to be a good bb team

Why not just celebrate a huge recruiting accomplishment instead of throwing in the " yeah but" comment.

I don’t know that we do yet. Are we riding the backs of freshman and a redshirt freshman? Maybe we can, but I think we need a little bit more win now players, which, it’s still really early in the portal, and he very well may get. I’m celebrating another good recruit, but I don’t think that means much for next season.

I thought McMahon couldn't recruit? 3 top 100 recruits in one cycle kills that.

It’s a simple logical train of thought. I promise I was one of the most excited fans in regards to the Miller commitment, as I really wanted him prior to his Oregon commitment. But let’s be honest here… the excuses for the McMen are running slim. In regards to the “he needs better players” “he needs to recruit without sanctions” that’s the reality now. We got Miller. I’ve said those things before and I’m not going to use those excuses again. He has a full roster of his players. It’s year 3 (the year everyone said to wait to judge him on), etc. The excuses stop now. It’s time to go out on the court and show improvement. It’s quite funny how bipolar the rant users are. I’ve never seen people go from loving to hating a person solely based on recency bias. With McMahon it’s like the majority of people love or hate him based on the most recent win, the most recent loss, or the most recent recruit. It’s ridiculous.

I will say though that I’ve been extremely optimistic in regards to the program and MBB regulars on TD would second that in a heartbeat. I want nothing more than LSU above all else to succeed. I also really like and respect McMahon as a person but I also have to be a realist and prioritize the program. The excuses have to stop. The SEC is getting stronger. If McMahon doesn’t show improvement next season that’s a problem, and I’d be worried. However I DO still believe in him and I DO think we will improve.

If we recruit good players but it doesn’t translate to the court then there’s no point. I think we have a good roster going into next season and it has to show on the court. Not even necessarily in the wins and losses… but the things we do fundamentally and schematically that show improvement from a programmatic standpoint.

I don't care if we run out a church league team. The goal is to make the tournament. I am glad McMahon can get players with potential, but he deserves no more excuses for his "situation". Wade didn't get or need excuses at McNeese. It is put up or shut up time.

I expect improvement yes. But this ridiculous NC or bust crap has to go. This team was a few plays away from making the tournament this year. And if he had Cook from the get go they probably get in. He has shown he can coach and he has shown he can recruit. He’ll get there.
