So Iowa prioritized it and Georgia’s coach didn’t? Is that what you are saying?
I'm saying Iowa prioritized it and LSU DID NOT. LSU looked like the losers that they were that night.
The football game is irrelevant because they purposefully keep the teams in the locker rooms to avoid this bad PR due to the NFL kneelers.

So I guess I can count on you not commenting on the happenings in any other state's government affairs? Such a low intelligence response from you.

The LSU team was just protesting because they believe "The Star Spangled Banner" should be replaced as national anthem with "God Bless the U.S.A.".

The exact type of idiot he is pandering to.
Any action would end up in court where the university and state would be bitch slapped and embarrassed nationally by the Supreme Court for infringing on free speech.
You are the exact kind of idiot that has lead us to this point. It is not a Freedom Of Speech issue.
And if that is your argument, then you are agreeing that they were protesting.

Do you also react this way when Biden doesn't retract the idiotic things he says and does?

Most SEC football teams are in the locker room for the anthem and have been for 40+ years.

Not anymore! They will get their arse out of the locker room and show some respect! Good job Landry.

Smart could gave prioritized it and didn’t. Mulkey could have changed her routine and prioritized it and didn’t.
But Mulkey bad, Smart awesome.
How dumb arse is that?

This has been a great thread. So many emotional idiots out today.

This is Jeff Landry in a nutshell. He loves trying to capitalize on an emotional topic.

Iowa was on the court. Are you disagreeing with that?

Nope, not at all.
Several others teams were not on the court this year as in years past. It is a function of how the NCAA sets up pregame warmups and when they do the National Anthem during the tournament.
If you just do a little research you will see that this is all a bunch of BS aimed to make Mulkey look bad when if fact the NCAA controlled it.
This was not a protest and not what you and others are so emotional about. Hell, even Dawn Staley was accused of the same thing maybe 2 years ago and if you research it, you will see the same circumstances took place. And I am not a fan of Staley at all, but I don't let my emotions guide my decisions.
But go yell and cry at the sky more if it makes you feel better.

If LSU were a private school, they could possibly write into their bylaws that anyone on scholarship who refuses to participate in the playing of the NA will lose their scholarship and they might win any legal challenges. But, LSU is a public state college, IE, a government school. And I’m pretty sure, if LSU heeded Landry’s advice and withdrew a scholarship based on not participating in the Anthem, they’d be sued and lose.

It took Landry 3 months to prove he is as dumb as I thought he was. I hope I am wrong but he will likely “chase cars” his whole governorship and accomplish less than nothing.
The sad truth is that nobody in either party come close to beating him. Says a lot about our state.
The surprising part to me is the number of people who don’t see it.
If you are a small government conservative (like me, and I wrongly assumed the majority of this board) how can you possibly think the government threatening a state institution over pregame national anthem attendance is a good thing?
Yeah, I would like them out there for the anthem. But pick your battles and don’t be an idiot. I’ll be curious to see how this plays out in football season …
