Yep. Removing Perlmutter started the slow decline of the MCU.

Dr Doom requires nuance and subtlety. He requires a writer that can actually conceptualize what a genius level villain can do.

Well, the talented people that built and guided the MCU to greatness were absolute dogshite at writing good villains. Not sure why now would be any worse than the forgettable villains we collectively accepted for an entire decade.

This might be the most nonsensical response you could have come up with.

Marvel doesn't have a lot of good villains in general, and most of their best ones are Spiderman, X-Men, or Fantastic Four villains. It's astonishing that they managed ten years of villains without those properties.

Asking disney to create an original storyline for a female character is asking too much. Easier to hijack an already well made story

Do you? You've stanned for Perlmutter in multiple threads, and you just ignore that his legacy as a marvel executive is putting toy sales above ALL else. He cheaped out on creative talent for the comics, resulting in perceived dip in quality and a very real dip in comics sales. He didn't want to do the MCU. He tried to block virtually every decision Feige wanted from the beginning. He wanted to sell off more rights than they already had. And, oh yeah, he was part of the executive team that sent Marvel into bankruptcy in the first place, resulting in them selling off film rights to xmen and Spider-Man.

So, if you want to honor Perlmutter's legacy, go buy some fukking toys. They're the only things he cared about. He is not your film savior, because he didn't really want the films.

This was wise. Feige without Perlmutter is obviously garbage. They need Perlmutter back at the helm.

Perlmutter was responsible for Marvel moving into creating films in-house...

You should become more acquainted with the name Ron Perelman so you don't look like a complete idiot. Perlmutter wasn't involved with Marvel till 1993, which is after the writing was already on the wall about bankruptcy. He wrested control from Perelman and Icahn after bankruptcy and was responsible for Marvel moving into making movies themselves instead of farming them out. The decline of the MCU directly correlates to Feige being moved out from under Perlmutter. It is plainly obvious to anyone who isn't a hack in denial that removing Perlmutter was a colossally stupid decision.

I mean. . .really?

I mean Loki was a better written villain than anyone NOT fired for domestic violence

I also thought the following were well written villains:

Ego
Killmonger
Hydra
Thanos
Mysterio
Vulture
Hela
Abomination

I actually really like Michael B Jordan, which i know isn't a popular position on this board.

But honestly, Killmonger was about as generic as they get in terms of a villain. I don't understand the hype for him (well, let's be real).

I'd make the argument that the best villain in Marvel Comics is...Scott Summers once Cyclops goes full Magneto (even Magneto thinks he's too extreme at that point).

To be fair, these characters belong to Sony for movies. They can't be used in the MCU without permission.

This is part of what I mean when I say most of the best villains are Spiderman, FF, and X-Men villains. Sony and Universal have owned the rights to nearly every beloved/iconic Marvel villain since the MCU began.

Completely agree. And he's barely in the film for the first half of it. But that entire film was wildly overrated, IMO. I liked it, but a best picture nom was truly hilarious.

I'm really curious to see how they do Galactus. My assumption is he'll basically be a Celestial.

Correct, but the Spidey films were completely MCU, per their agreement.. . .and so they (the villains) were written by MCU supervised writers

I consider that an MCU written villain.
