Angel and HVL BOTH said in a recent presser that the deals they have signed stay with them for years to come.

We aren't talking about the LSU collective here.

We are talking about National, Name Brand companies they are signed to.

They will both continue to make money even if they leave.

She didn’t play in Reeboks

Do they have to continue to play basketball in the WNBA?

Fewest total turnovers by any starter over the last 3 games (4 total) and none in 4Q on Monday. But carry on with this narrative…

These endorsements aren’t so much about wearing or using their product. A single post on Instagram is enough and reaches millions.

This isn’t old school endorsements with the player prominently featured in ads & billboards. Social media posts garner just as much attention.

They can still make nil money in wnba.

Yes they can make NIL money in the WNBA. It is doubtful that the $75K salary will make up the difference between the NIL deals they have now and what would continue or be available in the WNBA. The college games draw armored audience than the WNBA and the endorsements will be commensurate with the lack of exposure.

Its a narrative that fits. But the fact is, she was good on offense. Made a pass down low and Reese never kept moving. I thought that was on Reese. Her shooting isnt where we want it, but i think fatigue played a factor in the team’s long range percentages.

I hope she comes back. She’s a good Tiger!!

I noticed when HVL said that in the post game presser, but even if we face Iowa again, it won't be the same without Clark.
Gonna be honest and say that I don't know if the Iowa women's basketball team has a great history of presence in the tournament before Clark.

Clark will be leaving. Mulkey will not.

t is said because it is true. The following of any major university is far greater than any WNBA team.

While this may be true, the demographic that the national advertisers that have signed NIL deals with Reese, Johnson, HVL, etc. is not LSU fans per se.

Reese has signed NIL deals with the following national brands: Goldman Sachs, Topps, Beats by Dre, Tampax, Reebok, Airbnb, ZOA Energy, Amazon, Playstation, Mielle Organics, Sports Illustrated, Starry, Caktus AI, Campus Ink, Intuit Turbo Tax, Jansport, Bose, Banter by Piercing Pagoda, Togethxr, and Sonic. Along with several local brands, Gordon, Raising Cane's, Hancock Whitney and Bayou Traditions. The vast majority of her NIL income is not LSU or college basketball related.

It's just not the audience that you think it is. Reese has over 1.8 million followers and that is the audience upon which her advertising is focused.

Edited to correct: over 6 million followers

This isn’t difficult to figure out

Obviously it is for some people.

The girls can easily make more money for less work in college until some sort of team cap or limit to individual earnings is put into place. Nobody outside of women’s basketball gives a shite about the LA Spark. A lot of of male non basketball fans will watch LSU women’s basketball. Companies know this and put their money where the eyes are.

A lot of words that amount to a big steaming pile of BS.

It is the individual brand that drives the views and attracts the advertisers and that has nothing to do at this point with college basketball or the WNBA.

Yeah HVL didn't have a great year and learning new position. She should come back 1 more year for sure if she plans on trying to make roster in WNBA as pg.

Her brand becomes stagnant in the WNBA.

Reese can sustain, but HVL might need to establish herself again. I’d like for her to return back and play her more natural position.

I assume they both are going to declare though.

Everyone wins when they stay another year IMO.

How can you say this when you have no idea of who could be playing in their place. At some point they have to move on and CKM has to start rebuilding. There is enough of a foundation plus a lot of promising new and returning from injuries players for this to be as good a time as any.

Let the offense resemble Iowa's more with Johnson and Williams. There is a good point guard coming in who is quicker and hopefully a better shooter than HVL. I think the whole team should use the off season to shed pounds if needed and get in the best shape possible and then run people to death.

If I'm Angel Reese and I've had to endure all the bullshite going on around the periphery of the program, which now includes the governor of the state being an a-hole, then I can't wait to GTFO of this fricking awful place.

If HVL stays, got to think she won't be starting at PG anymore, let alone at SG.

Hope shes ok with coming off the bench

I wouldn't be shocked at anything at this point, but HVL to the transfer portal would be my lean.

Not nearly ready for pro ball and there really isn't room for her here next year.
