I'm starting to get the feeling that Minnesota didn't play to win the last game of the season against Phoenix.

It's not because they were avoiding any teams or because they absolutely wanted Phoenix in the first round. The advantage of being 3rd seed vs 1st seed is knowing immediately who your opponents are and being able to scout and game plan a week in advance is advantageous compared to the Thunders finding out who they're playing barely 2 days before the series starts is huge.
