I know linearity is out the window in these games but it did a real disservice to the story they were trying to tell here. It worked okay in BotW since most of the memories were fairly self-contained, but TotK's memory narrative was linear. The game nudges you in the correct order, but I think it would've been more impactful to enforce that order. I stumbled on the big spoilery memory way earlier in my playthrough than I would have liked.

The depths were monotonous but I loved the atmosphere of the abandoned mines and wish they'd been more built out.

The sky was meh.

All of the new mechanics are really interesting and fun to try, but I found my general "style" to be about 90% of what I had done in BotW.

The expanded bestiary is impressive but--I can't believe I'm saying this--it needed to be bigger. Taking down your first few boko bosses and gleeoks is thrilling, but even those become ho-hum after a while. And there's only so many combinations of liz/boko/moblins you can throw at me before it just gets boring.

Ganondorf battle was great. Second-favorite in the series behind WW.

It was a blast to play but I don't think I'm going to play it again anytime soon.

Hopefully we hear some news about the movie soon. I'm really interested who would play Gannondorf.
