I don't necessarily think that's an unpopular opinion Tears of the Kingdom is a bigger/better version of BotW.
I liked BotW's intro better though.
Some things annoyed me with Tears of the Kingdom such as the requirements to upgrade armor. I should not have to stand on the back of a Dragon for over an hour to upgrade a chestpiece.
Being able to create your own weapons is really cool, but it's still lame how they break after 5-6 hits.

That's how I felt. Yeah, the first few hours in BOTW were probably better just experiencing how vast the game is, but Tears is essentially a huge DLC for BOTW. I also felt like the powers in TOTK were way better than BOTW.
