If anyone wants fried chicken in that area, go to Rascal’s in Duson.

Now, it’s a truck stop/travel casino with a big dining room and cafeteria style serving, but it is fricking incredible fried chicken and soul food on Sundays and I believe on Tuesdays buffet.

All you can eat:

Fried Chicken (similar to Popeyes spicy, fried darker)
Smothered porks chops in gravy
Black Eyes
Rice Dressing
Cornbread Dressing
Green Beans in Tasso
Mustard Greens
Cornbread
Fries Okra
Peach Cobbler
Banana Pudding

Drive to Steamboat Landing in Washington. Good food and Hannah makes a great Maker's Mark Old Fashioned.

I follow a group on facebook called Lafayette Foodies.

There was a poll on there a while back that claimed this was the best steak in the Acadiana area.

Is this true?

They are the only place that I've seen in the area that serves a prime ribeye cap steak.

I started following them on Instagram after my cousin and his wife had their rehearsal dinner there in 2019, and the pictures they post always make me salivate.

Yeah, I agree. No seasoning and just loaded with toppings. Across the street (Judice Inn) and around the corner (Bourque's) both put it to shame. Mandez's is like Broadus Burger, both bland with toppings off the wall that mask the taste. Charley G's , Social, and love it or hate it, Alesi's, has a great burger as well.

Alesi's

Bourque's

Social

Judice Inn

Prejeans
Get the half and half.
Half etouffee, half fried tails. Let the fried tails get in the sauce.

Bayou Teche Brewery is a very cool vibe for weekend day drinking. Usually a small old time cajun band quitely playing outside with fantastic pizza and unique apps. Though you're bound to run in to a few gypsies, it's a great place in the middle of nowhere thats kid and pet friendly.

Mandez’s has the best burger in Lafayette, located on Doucet near the Grand Theatre before you get to Red’s.

Not Upper Lafayette.

Maybe Central Lafayette but it's definitely not the Nortside

Spoonbill has one of the best burgers in the city, too.

Hideaway on Lee is hipster AF, but their burger is also good.

Half of those use frozen patties bro, and you didnt even mention Deano’s.

I love Judice Inn as much as the next person but you need 3 of them. And Fat Pat’s and Uncle T’s? C’mon man. Uncle T’s doesnt even have a burger on thr menu, they serve it as a Poboy and it’s mediocre and dry every single time. Max’s doesn’t make their own patty.

All personal preference I suppose

The very first post mentioned Prejeans and Cafe Josephine so I assumed Lafayette was used pretty loose.

I mean people are mentioning Little Big Cup in Arnaudville.

Only reason I even mention “Upper Lafayette” is to never miss an opportunity to poke fun at how moronic progressives are

Anybody that is from this area knows that it’s the Northside. And we all also know do not spend time there at night.
