At the time, because he had no reason not to. FWIW, I voted for the welder.

I’ve lived in KY since 2008 so I’m not fully current on that race. Why couldn’t Trump endorse Cassidy’s top Republican opponent? If anything for Louisiana it probably would’ve put him above Cassidy for the runoff.

Trump's support has steadily increased since 2015. When are all these swing voters going to get fed up? Trump's increase in support can't keep coming from the right, so that means he is attracting people who you say are turned off by him.

When do you think you'll realize that the only people who care about mean tweets as much as you are leftists?

He was an incumbent with a huge war chest and no major baggage at the time.

He had no major opposition.

I didn’t trust him, which is why I voted for the welder.

My distrust has proven to be warranted imho.

Cassidy was very popular in Louisiana until he turned on Trump in the last sham impeachment. He was one of the Senators who voted that impeaching a former president was unconstitutional, then voted to convict in the illegal "trial."

I agree with everything that Trump said except this part:

quote:

Cassidy is a total “stiff,” but Louisiana didn’t need him to protect them, because they had ME, 100%!

I don’t want or need the government, especially the federal government, protecting me.

I don’t really think that is in the spirit of the founders.

He should’ve just stopped at “stiff”

I mean, I understand there are some on here who just don’t like Trump but I don’t see how anyone could be pro-Cassidy. That guy has done nothing but take up a seat over there in DC.

As someone who thinks MAGA is just the GOPe in some fancy new packaging, these statements always make sense.

MAGA/America First as a movement no longer exists because it's been populated by all sorts of RINOs and America Last hacks because the movement wasn't protected by the people leading it. The man in charge bases his endorsements on who praises him the loudest.

But sure let's celebrate Trump calling out a terrible senator that Trump helped get elected. And never question why Trump finds himself in these situations over and over again.

Cassidy is a lame duck. McConnell and Schummer’s favorite kind of senator. But come ‘26 it’s over.

I see it as the masses being enlightened. Cassidy shite on Louisiana. The rest of the nation is oblivious.

1. The rest of the nation can’t do a thing about Cassidy
2. It’s possible to enlighten someone without sounding like an idiot.

It doesn’t matter if what he says is true or who it enlightens if pushes people away. His bizarre ramblings push swing voters away and his overall image will make this race closer than it should be. It’s baffling.

Bill Cassidy won't make the runoff in 2026 should he decide to run for reelection, which I doubt he does.

Likely accurate.

But why do this now? If trump wins we still have two more years of Cassidy and trump will need his vote.

I’m voting for him regardless of his ramblings you dumb twat. I would prefer that he actually win, and his moronic ramblings do nothing to make that happen.

All he ever does is throw red meat to his base.

If he would tone it down and speak like a normal person he'd probably win in a landslide considering the opposition. Instead, he choses to repel a portion of the electorate that won't vote for him simply because he's a childish, narcissistic a-hole.
