Am I to assume that the Spanish Supercupa is considered a friendly since they're doing it in Saudi Arabia now?

The funny/sad part in all of this is USSF getting wrapped up in all of this, in a way that isn’t really their fault.

USSF and spending millions dealing with frivolous lawsuits, name a more iconic duo.

It’s always been a “friendly“ as are the Community Shield and other similar matches. None of them count in the regular season league table.

In theory, the FA Cup final could be played anywhere for similar reasons. Hell, it’ll never happen, but could you imagine the Championship Final being played in America?
