If hot, sales. If not, engineering.

Your ability to work with technology will be integral. You don’t need to “code” but understanding how technology works will be important for most industries

Anything without a college degree.
Too expensive and not worth sacrificing your soul.

Any degree the air traffic control. Or the trades. The young people coming up have no interest in the trades and we're already hurting for reliable plumbers, electricians, mechanics (especially aircraft mechanics).

Nursing. Nurses can work anywhere. Always employable.

Do this.

Then go into medical sales. You’ll make between 250K and 1M a year.

This is 100% dependent on the child. I only have experience with young men. If it’s a young man who is an average student then probably some sort of a trade. If they excel in math and science then some sort of STEM field.

Are you suggesting that a near six figure income is chump change?

This is the correct answer. Unless you’re trying to become a lawyer, Dr, engineer or something of that nature, college is a waste of time. It’s fun no doubt but a waste of time. You’ll learn a lot more of how the world works on a job site than you will in a classroom by some far left professor.

Shouldn’t Louisiana high schools introduce some courses in these HVAC trades and what not, so that people aren’t totally green when they hit the work force? High schools should find a way to implement classes that teach these boys some basic skills with tools.

Wide range of options depending on whether you are good in math, logical thinking, etc….

I’ve always advised those looking for a path… try to find something you can do that people can’t walk off the street and do. Meaning, try to earn a specialized degree, license.
CPA, Lawyer, Doctor, Engineer, Plumber’s license, Electrician’s license, Architect, Landscape Architect, Real Estate Appraiser, specific skill such as wood working, auto mechanic, computer programming.

If I were doing it over again, I wouldn’t change my undergrad experience too much but would learn a trade and do an apprenticeship while in school.

But then again the awesome humanities and social science profs I had are an extinct breed. So unless it’s at Hillsdale or somewhere similar I’d skip it and self-learn.
