And personally I would stay in an antebellum home like Anchuca, Duff Green, Cedar Grove, etc... if it's just you and your wife vs a hotel like the Hampton Inn or similar. That's part of the experience of a town like Vicksburg or Natchez in my opinion. This vrbo has always interested me too.

Rusty’s serves a nice dinner. 10 South for an afternoon cocktail and a great view. The National Park is fantastic. Lunch at Walnut Hills (get the fried chicken) is memorable,

You can go visit Grey Oaks Plantation It is full an antiques and looks really nice now... some gay guy owns it now as a wedding/event/B&B spot.
Fun fact: It is where my mother lived during middle school, high school. My grandfather bought it on the cheap and spent 10 years fixing it up.

The wife and I enjoyed the Ameristar Casino for a few hours and found the meal at one of the dining areas to be satisfactory.

Civil war battlefield and see the iron clad war ship. We drove to poverty point for a tour of the largest known hunter gatherer civilization in North America (about an hour)
