Maybe saying we interviewed him is too formal, we definitely approached him about the job and he said nah, you don't have your shite together.

I don't know why this still needs to be said at this point, but this idea that it was always going to be Gregg is just wrong.
He was the safety net... it was a dumb safety net to have considering you risked alienating the frick out of Gio at the time (and I will give credit to all parties involved for being fricking adults for once and being able to put their differences aside for the greater good) but we had no idea at the time if that's how this would play out.
