This classic song 1970 anchored one end of the decade. The entire decade pretty much defined a new genre of music called Classic Rock which still dominates the music scene today, even amongst young people.
1970s the best for sure but 1980s and 1960s close. Modern music sucks.

This is something I hate to hear. For context, my 5 bands to have on my playlist on a deserted island would be The Who, The Stone, Led Zepplin, Hendrix, and AC/DC. However, when someone says all modern music sucks they either don't really like music, they aren't trying very hard or they are so stuck on a certain genre in a certain era they can't expand. There is tons of new music and the technical talent of musicians is off the charts.
