A

I was very healthy and other then a yearly physical I went to doc less then 5 times in 15 years. Then my right testicle was enlarged. Surgery and chemo later bills were well over 100k. Was just responsible for max out of pocket. Think $2.

At $6800/yr for my portion of employer provided family health insurance, I could pay and not use for 12 years and still come out ahead. Add in birth of my son, and wife having complications during delivery, and I can go 20 years before I “lost” money.

And we still have normal doctor visits that just cost a co pay.

You never know when something big will arrive, not destroying your financial holding and starting over is well worth the cost and piece of mind health insurance brings.

On the flip side, when it happens you see all these gofundme posts with a sob story and a plea for help.

Insurance is so worth it.
