Our system is perverted by taking the buyer- you- out of the loop. Doctors have to negotiate with health insurance companies for their services.

Ask a doctor what they charge for a visit and they can’t tell you.
Ask a surgeon what they charge for an operation and they can’t tell you.
They don’t know the answer or can’t divulge it to us.

They charge the health insurance company a high amount, negotiate it down and settle for less then write off the difference as a tax deduction.

That’s perverse.

Will you please tell me how to legally use my write-offs as a tax deduction. I asked my accountant about that my first year in practice twenty years ago, and he said you can’t write it off.
