He’s so far behind what the good teams are doing. We’re still running that high ball screen as the main set when college defenses have figured it out now. On D we’re playing like it’s 1980, there’s no ball pressure, we don’t hedge properly, our coverages are antithetical to the percentages. He’s just not the caliber of coach for this level.

Then top it off with he can’t or wont recruit studs and we end up with non elite talent in outdated schemes and our ceiling is 9-9 in conference

Wade’s teams didn’t hedge well either except for his last year, the difference is, Wade most of the time had superior talent and they got away with shitty defense. This year, the 2 bigs are soft and never redirect guys off their spots or paths to the goal. Ward isn’t a good defender either. I agree at times they don’t defend players against their strengths. Whether that’s a lack of scouting and coaching or the players just not executing what they are being told, I’m not totally sure of, it may be both are at fault.
