The first Mad Max was right at the beginning. They can credit the character as whatever they want but it couldn't be the Max from the original movies.

What?
Some claim that he's the feral kid from the second movie, but the kid as old man narrator in that one seems to contradict that possibility.
Miller thinks of it all as a legendarium, which sort of blurs the importance of a timeline. To him, I think it's all Max, so I guess that's all that matters.
