I’ll watch some of a Dynamo game if I’m flipping and it’s on, but I’m not paying for the Apple thing.

I just don’t see how they expect to be successful long term going to head to head with the NFL/CFB during MLS playoffs. That needs to be in the spring.

I don’t think they’re trying to compete with the NFL or CFB, they’re targeting people in Centra, South America and Mexico

The MLS Playoffs are short and not big rating pulls at all. They’re an afterthought. The only NFL or College game on the day of the 2023 MLS Cup was Army/Navy. It still didn’t even draw 1m viewers on a wide open Saturday

It makes far more sense for most of the 34 regular season games to be in the spring and dog days of summer and it’s not close. The league would be cannibalized for a far longer and more brutal stretch if it tries to emulate the NFL/CFB/European calendar for the time being

I don't see how their playoffs could work in the spring unless teams would be willing to play regular season games in the frigid winter. How often is soccer played in snow and wind? And even if it was, it would still be going up against the NCAA Tournament, NHL and NBA playoffs.
