And nothing resembling how Star Wars started out. It was always about good or bad, light vs dark. But now? Such things are arbitrary. It's simply about the lust for POWER

Sometimes I wonder if you're regurgitating things you see without thinking about them. You think Star Wars properties should be recycling the same simple themes over and over again, and never attempting to add any sort of nuance or depth to the universe?

Regardless of the quality of this show and other star wars shows/sequels, like, this is what sounds good to you?

If that had sounded good to George, he'd never have written Empire.

What is being added is vapid derivative trash. It’s C grade fanfic, produced for the purpose of making content. And promoting The Message. While KK continues to self insert in every damn thing Disney.

Hey, The Acolyte trailer did not get ratio’d on the official Star Wars YouTube channel all by itself.

Fans did that.

I thought this was a joke. But there was one white guy in the trailer... the white dude getting duped by the jedi mind trick.

I for one LOVE when themes of black power are integrated into my Star Wars stories. Such nuance, much depth

He'll probably end up being the big bad or something. They'll probably make him a young Palpatine.

Hopefully not because he isn’t even born yet. Maybe we get a Darth Plagueis cameo but I have no knowledge of the High Republic storylines and if he is even involved.

Cool! Another flick about 90 lb chicks who are stronger and smarter than men 3 times their size, Asians, and black people… with a few white soy boys sprinkled in for extras and cannon fodder cuz hey, somebody has to die.

Star Wars has COMPLETELY scorned and crapped on their core audience. And is laughing in their faces. So, I hope they like the fruits of their efforts.

There's a reason the poster is basically a tampon with period blood. Come on people, how many times does Disney have to spit directly in your face? What will it take for you to learn.

If they were adding nuance and depth, they would be producing Very different films and series than what's currently being gurgitated. Basing your themes on 'inclusivity', whilst insultingly trying to convince the main target audience - who are curiously not included - that that's not what you're doing, does not add nuance and depth. And when the crux of your marketing campaign is that the members of that target audience are racist/mysoginist/-ophobic because they aren't buying into it, you're basically marketing to the world that you could care less about the story or what made that story great. You only care about agenda, nuance and depth be damned.

From the bios of the girl characters:

"Jecki is the Padawan apprentice to Master Sol. Although she is young, she projects calm and conducts herself with maturity."

"Vernestra Rwoh is an elder Jedi Master who has ascended the ranks of the Jedi from a teenage prodigy to a leader in the Order. She became one of the youngest Jedi Knights in a generation at age 15, and solidified her status as a prodigy when she took Imri Cantaros as a Padawan the next year.”

More self insert bullshite from the purple hairs.

Some of you get so dramatic over a show for children. If it sucks, it sucks. No need to feel attacked over it.

I agree with you but also I don't.

That "Children's space bears show" argument is too often thrown back at any criticism.

Now, is it that serious?
Not really.

Do I care?
Yes. This shite's annoying.

According to you and Kaiju. Not according to what's actually on screen... In the shows and movies about aliens.

But again, you're defending Kaiju's point that these shows should only recycle what has already been written, never adding anything new. And that is stupid.

And you know it's stupid.

How can you assess the level of drama from my post? It's not dramatic at all, it's very simple, Disney employees aren't interested in giving the audience what they want.

No one is saying that. But if you purposefully cuck all of the fan favorites, replace them with bad DEI quotas and toss it all together into a bad story with bad acting, inexperienced DEI directors and shitty CG, it's not "anything new". It's just more bad filmmaking.

Tell a good story. Stop trying to inject race and politics into everything. Hire people who are good at their job and not the right sex/color/gender identity/etc.

That's all anyone is saying.
