What Movie(s) Had The Most Impact On Your Life?

It's rather crazy if you think about it...a movie can simply be just what it's intended to be be. A movie. An hour and a half of intertainment just to keep you busy or it can be more. The movie can be a movie you saw at the theaters or at home. For me , Full Metal Jacket changed my life. I joined the military just a few weeks after watching it. I don't have any regrets...lol well maybe a few? So. what movie had some impact on your life?

No movie has had even the slightest discernible impact on my life.

None really. If you put a gun to my head though and said I had to choose one, I guess I could say Apollo 13. It got me interested in the history of the U.S. space program and it became a hobby for me. Collecting models, books, etc.

It’s a wonderful life.
My favorite movie by default but not necessarily the best movie I’ve ever seen.
It’s a living testament that everyday kindness and doing the right thing has profound impacts far beyond just “being nice” in the moment.
I’m far from the saints that George or Mary Bailey are depicted in this movie but I’m always reminded that the smallest acts of selflessness can mean a lot to somebody else.

Superman
Because its the first film my Dad took me to.
We were late, theater was pitch black back in those days and seats were packed...couldn't find one.
He sat down in the aisle and held me on his lap...there we watched the movie. It's my fondest movie memory and how I came to love movies.

What Movie(s) Had The Most Impact On Your Life?
A couple of friends and I tried it in real life and I ended up working construction.

I don’t think movies impacted my life. I do think I could name movies or movie events that were the most memorable or had lasting (non-life changing) impacts on me.

Honestly, Swiss Family Robinson. The old Disney movie. I watched this as a kid constantly. This lead to many a day playing outside dreaming i was fighting pirates and making tree houses. It’s arguably why I love being outside and working with my hands so much.

Not life changing, but…
That “holy shite those are dinosaurs” score in Jurassic Park left a permanent mark on my brain.
In the most recent shite fest of a Jurassic Park movie, they played that score when they first showed Alan Grant. It flipped a switch in my head, like a moment every movie should try to have.
A shame the movie that followed that scene was so bad.

The Passion of the Christ
even when you know that scourging isn't as simple as being beaten with a whip it's a very different experience seeing it enacted on screen

The ending of The Last American Virgin.
It showed me at an early age that you can never truly trust a woman.
