News: Fox to have Friday night college football every week on main Fox this year featuring games from Big Ten, Big 12 and MWC. Hope is to grow the window to be larger viewership. Will feature quality games apparently. We will see how it goes, they’ve been successful with Big Noon Saturday

Friday is for high school. Those schools fit that mold.

Fox: We heard you like Saturday night college football....

Best we can do is Friday night and 11 AM Saturday.

We’re witnessing the murder of college football.

Big 12 should go all in and make their game of the week Friday prime time.

This whole “let’s get Joe from The Bronx to be a big college football fan” is killing me.

Dumb. Most cfb fans follow high school football as well.

Quality is an opinion.

Well, the 11am Fox Big Noon tv window is the most watched game of the week three years running now, averaging 6.7 million viewers a week. More viewers than Saturday night. So I guess people are watching it!

I think Friday will be successful too. Not everyone watches/follows HSFB

B1G schools don’t seem to mind the early kickoffs and its ends up usually being the only quality matchup in the time slot. Compared to prime time audience split up between solid matchups on 3-4 different channels.

I’d rather they try to bring back good games on Thursday nights though like we had in the 2000’s. Friday nights have never been great for TV audiences anyway.

I think a big reason behind Fox now pushing this is due to Nielsen, the ratings measurement company, switching up how the measure in last 2 years to include more out of home measurement (ie bars and restaurants). This obviously helps sports and particularly Friday/Saturday night viewership

Not all HS play on Friday night to be fair… most have a few Thursday or Saturday games for whatever reasons

I'm so sick of this. No sports fan is at home on a Friday night watching high school football games on their tv. The percentage of people who go to HS games has to be minuscule in the grand scheme.

Also Friday night games aren't new. ESPN and FS1 have had them for a while. They're just lying when they say they're going to be good games. It'll be BYU/Arizona St. and Maryland/Illinois level games.
