Have a landscape designer coming out in a few weeks and will see about ripping our St. Aug up for Bermuda which has already taken over some areas.

I live in Allen Tx, my wife and i went for a walk the other day and our neighborhoods lawn's are damn near checkerboard house to house. Some are just dead looking brown still and others have turned totally green. Mine is the brown section of the checkerboard unfortunately. The only green section is a little 1 foot line where i had to replace my main water line last fall and just bought some zoysia quick grow patch to put over the dirt afterward and watered to get something to grow.

If you want low maintenance bermuda (low fertilizer and mowing needs), check Trinity Turf in Pilot Point for “Tifton 10” (not Texturf 10). If you need a “utility” lawn, this is it. Get a pallet and it’ll spread quickly.
Any other bermuda, it’ll need more mowing and fertilizer than st aug.
But if you have even dappled shade, forget bermuda.

What's the steps to convert the lawn? If I lay down bermuda isn't take all patch in the soil? Won't it affect the new sod?

The fungus is in the soil and always will be. That being said I’ve never seen TARR effect Bermuda.

Can I do bermuda seed over the large areas my St Aug has been massacred by TARR? Then just let the best grass when out? I don't mind if they are different grasses as long as it's green and not bare dirt or 15 variations of weeds.

Rake out the dead areas. Seed, top with compost and lightly rake. There are other ways and YouTube has quite a bit of how to’s.
