When someone mentions an alcoholic, I will ask if they are drinking vodka. If they aren't drinking vodka it isn’t to the tipping point.

The ones that I know all eventually went to drinking vodka all day. They either die or become sober.

Not true and a dangerous mindset to have. I went to rehab twice before finally getting the message and stopping. Never touched vodka. The most common drink of choice I hear in meetings or peer support groups is either “whatever has alcohol” or whiskey.

They didn’t even offer hand sanitizer at the rehab I was at because residents would try to drink it.

What a hero. Some folks are super human. I’m glad he was able to quit.

Knew a guy that died in his mid-50s. Was drinking almost a handle of Jim Beam everyday up until his death.

I’ve always heard and seen the same thing, but my sample size is small. I’ve always wondered why this is as well. Is it cheap?

Very intense blood work. I told my doc what I was looking for. He said I came back clean of all organs.

Alcoholism isn’t fun. It doesn’t matter if you’re drinking a fifth of whiskey or 18 beers every night. It will destroy more than just a body, it will destroy everyone around the person that’s drinking everyday.

I worked with a guy- great dude, btw- super talented- drank a 5th of Black Label every day and smoked a carton of Marlboro reds.

I knew he was hardcore- but didn’t realize how much he was putting down until we were working overseas- customer agreed to pay expenses- the sales guy called me and chewed my arse because apparently our bar tab was becoming something of legend.

He made it to 58.

I used to drink a handle of WT101 every three days. I bought it by the case to get a 10% discount at the liquor store.

About 4:30 in the afternoon I would get a little shaky and I felt nauseated. I’d start drinking then and would normally drink until 11PM when I’d pass out. I’d get up in the AM, throw up bile and would go on with my day. I did that for a solid three years.

Now I rarely drink- maybe 1-2 drinks a year and no more than one drink. I really enjoy the flavor still.

The body adjusts, you learn how to mask it, take a PPI and a multivitamin, remember to eat. It creeps up on you. It’s all a mask to some other underlying issue with yourself. The liver is a boss.
