If you are used to it, sure..
I'm using my Series 2, since thats all i know..IMHO, games like this were meant to be played via controllers

I prefer controller for 3rd person. Dualsense does some really really cool stuff with the haptics, I'd recommend it.

People told me the same thing when I picked up Dark Souls. Felt horrible. Went back to kb/m and was much more comfortable.
Now, I’m not saying you’re wrong. All things equal, controller might be objectively better. But for those of us who are long time PC gamers, I would argue that it’s usually not better enough to overcome the loss of muscle memory.
Now platformers like Ori, etc? Yeah, even I think they are far better with a controller.

I am a playstation guy. Never owned an xbox. The Xbox Elite 2 is better than the Edge dualsense.
I would recommend an xbox controller.

I have a Series X but have shifted more to PC. That controller worked great.
This game is a work of art.

yeah until the face buttons stop registering or the bumpers start to stick. The elites are some of the shittiest controllers ever made from a QC standpoint. Plenty of reddit threads with thousands of comments of people complaining.
If you want a Xbox controller, get the regular Series controller.

Yep, the right bumper recently went out on mine. I was at least able to map it to one of the paddles, but I kinda expected better out of a $150+ controller.

I'm a tried and true PC gamer / Mouse and keyboard guy. However I also have a PS5, and I would 100% recommend using a controller for this game.

I am about 10 hours in. Then I went into Legends. Ouch. I may have 10 hours in that now too. lol. I didn't play Legends when I played it on PS5. shite is fun.

I tried legends once and really hated it. I would have rather had another story dlc.

Coming immediately off of several DkS1 runs, I'm having to re-learn some muscle memory (what the frick do you mean I can't parry a fricking spear, you fricking casual?!? ), but I'm really enjoying it thus far. I obviously don't know what the lower difficulties are like, but Lethal has been brutally, gloriously unforgiving, which is going to help with the get good. Though in the interim, god damn, the throat slitting as a finisher on PC death is a hell of a thing

Somehow I missed this.
Might be time for me to dive in soon.

it's pretty much tops as far as open world games.
Ghost
Witcher 3
They should be the blueprint.
I'll even add AC Odyssey. It did all that right. Though I hate on it, because it isn't an AC game in any real way.
Odyssey had a big world, but it wasn't empty and lifeless.

ghost is my favorite game of the ps4 generation, and it's top 5 period for me in general

The world of Ghost of Tsushima is great to look at but no where near as interesting as Witcher 3. I would put Fallout 4 and NV above it as well.

This is true. But it is more linear as Witcher has the whole "choices matter" thing going for it. But the combat strategies, main character story, and general world are just as interesting in both games, for me.
I just finished Horizon Forbidden West (I haven't done Burning Shores yet) and I think the Ghost story is superior. I haven't taken my time in a game like i am now, since Witcher 3. I'm 40 hours in and just started Act II with the first area liberated fully (not 100% for everything yet though).
