Playing Texas, I’m so ready for an apple to apples baseball game

Up until now, it’s been an apples to oranges baseball schedule. LSU has massively more resources than all the teams we have played thus far. It’s hard to know how good you are playing smaller programs.
Playing Texas is more of an apples to apples game, two elite college baseball programs going head to head. Texas is third behind LSU in national championships with six. With Texas moving to the SEC, we could see a real rivalry emerge.
Baseball isn’t football for sure. You will see the David’s beat the Goliaths more often in baseball when bats go cold , you face a hot pitcher, or the ball just bounces wrong - see Stony Brook. LSU isnt alone, most top baseball teams will lose to a smaller team along the way, particularly early on where coaches tinker with their pitchers and lineups.
But Texas vs LSU means more, it means more to the teams, it means more to fans. LSU baseball is a late winter/early spring life safer for giving me a sport to look forward to watch. I’m looking forward to tonight. I travel to Austin often and have much enjoyed the bragging rights I have over my Austin buddies thanks to that great win at UT which began our football national championship run. I’m playing golf at the UT course next Tuesday and it would be nice to have some baseball bragging rights too.

Agreed. Excited to see our guys get to face some pitching like they’ve been seeing all fall and preseason

Nothing wrong with a little dirt shooting I guess
