At least those working on those offshore platforms are paid a very good wage, and their employers have to abide by human rights and employment laws.

We have a mine in Oklahoma or Arkansas that is gonna open soon and one in Cali is in the initial stages

Yeah, they shouldnt mine metals to make EV batteries because it's bad for the environment. They should just stick with something safe for the environment like drilling offshore wells.

Haha that argument always so weird to me. Those metals would still be mined even if we had no EVs. Is everyone gonna stop using cell phones/laptops/cordless tools/batteries if we stop making EVs?

Evs dont save the planet and should not be propped up with my tax money because of false claims.

Why do they need to be brined? We’re not talking about pork tenderloin here.

If by cost you less tax revenue, if they weren’t going to come without those incentives, then zero.

Also it drives me nuts when government getting less is called a cost. It’s not a damn cost, it’s government taking in less. The government doesn’t actually have to pay out. That would e a cost.

This is how a liberal thinks.

You sound like a miserable twat that lives in a literal plastic bubble while wearing 13 masks. Your name must be Karen.

That's one way to look at it, or you could realize that a company investing $500 MM will likely inject $50MM in direct sales and income taxes into your economy just to get it built. After it's built they will likely spend another $100MM a year in operating and maintaining the plant over the next 50 years.

The sales tax on the equipment alone will generate way more tax revenue for parish and state than property in its current state.

And Korean, East Asian businesses and southerners have a great advantageous relationship. We probably have more in common with these people than we do with people in other parts of our country.

Not the first plant in the state to produce a product related to the EV market. Syrah resources in Vidalia produces a graphite product
