I lived in Memphis for 5 years, and have visited Nashville 5 times. Downtown Memphis got better from ‘14 to ‘19, but has turned back to shite post Covid. I despise going back to that shithole for work.

The people who say there are things to do in Memphis for 2 days are lying. That’s as nicely as I can put it. I’d challenge someone to tell me one single thing more redeeming in Memphis than Nashville.

You may as well be comparing two different countries.

So so true. I used to champion Memphis on here, and my wife and I will still ride up and stay a night or two because we know what we want to do and how to do it. It’s a two hour drive. If we’re alone, we go stay at the Peabody, eat at Flight, Porch and Parlor, Folk’s Folly, etc., and just go back and people watch in the Peabody. Even down for a Raiford’s night if we’re with friends… But then the next day it’s like okay we brought the cooler and the back of the SUV is clean, let’s go to Costco and stock up. Otherwise, we’ll bring our daughter for a night and go to the zoo or children’s museum, and hit Germantown for a little shopping, eat at the Commissary, then head home.

There’s enough food to hammer out a good weekend easily, but if you’re not into Elvis or the Pyramid, you’re going to run out of shite to do real quick.
