I can relate. My parents were burning brush in piles on our land at TB. My brother walked into a cold pile and kicked the ash around. I thought it looked like fun, and when we got to the next pile, I tried to do the same. My chosen pile of ash wasn’t cold, and I got horrible burns on my feet. 40 years later, one of my big toes still has a visible scar.
