I am sorry but the 1984 crap has got to stop.
Up is down, love is hate, war is peace, what is wrong is right, etc.
The media is the Ministry of(Dis) Information.

Making opposition speech a crime is the commie way.

The problem is not having free speech leads to something much much more sinister.

Free speech actually curtails free speech.

the Supreme Court has held that all fundamental rights, even the right to free speech, can be limited as long as there is a compelling governmental interest and the restriction is narrowly tailored to achieve that interest
Government has its own interest, regardless of the people. Trump made that obvious. So they are allowed to deceive and put their interest over the governed?

If that pesky misinformation, as labeled by the government, would quit being proven true Americans would naturally stop seeking it.

We have been working on free speech since the day of our founding. Yellow journalism. Corporate journalism. Restrictions. No restrictions. Bribery. Evil. Malice. Ignorance so on and so on.
In the end I always go for more free speech not less however we can get there.

MSNBC legal analyst Barbara McQuade argued Monday that the United States’ “deep commitment to free speech” makes Americans uniquely susceptible to disinformation campaigns.
However, the first amendment has already been unconstitutionally castrated multiple times. Just like the Second Amendment. Without the 1A and 2A, the rest of the foundation of America doesn't exist. That's why they're doing their best to erode both.

They are the opposite of liberals. They are authoritarians.

Thus the need for the 2nd amendment...

Democracy = People elect a State approved candidate.
Popularism =. People elect a candidate not approved by the State.
Information = State approved speech.
Disinformation = Speech not approved by the State. It does not matter if the speech is true or not.

The cure for bad speech is more free speech.

Total free speech? Good in theory, in fact 100 percent I agree in theory, but be careful about what you wish for.
Why are you so scared of Russia when you push authoritarian shite like this? I will say whatever the hell I want, about whomever I want, whenever I want. There is no entity on this Earth that I would cede the right to tell me what is and isn't acceptable to say.

Not only do these folks lack the humility or ability to self reflect….they double down to educate you more so you too can be enlightened.

For 235 years it's been fine, but now... NOW it's dangerous to let people speak.

Who determines what is acceptable speech and what is misinformation?
In a perfect world such a view would be acceptable because in that world govt and media would be 100% honest and transparent thus you’d know that any censorship of lies was exactly that and not simply silencing opposing views to further an agenda
