shite man, I moved to Corpus Christi from WTX and I think my family came down 3 times in the 6 years I was there. I didn't blame them one bit, nor do I you.

NTA... I'm always against holiday visit guilt of any kind but especially this shite. He moved, you shouldn't have to change how you do the holidays

You do have an interesting combination of "I wouldn't want to go to either place."
CC, the only place there are often stories about ex-racing dogs being stabbed to death. Drive by shooting on a banana bike? Corpus.

One hour drive is the limit, I’m damn sure not paying for plane tickets to see someone that moved across the country.

Don't forget the dumbest county in Texas (2006) and the highest rates of teen pregnancy (2009).

That's totally fair, my energy is based on OP making an effort, and the in laws not caring.
If the family doesn't want it, don't force it. They will do them. Your red flag will be if you start getting feedback that you're not seeing Tita/Tito enough, and it becomes your problem.
You're going to get repeated warning signs before that happens (I did with a girl I dated in BTR, and her family was it Laffy, and she refused to leave the state b/c of family) do not ignore the warning signs. It will nearly certainly bite you.
