There will not be a second season, nor should there be.
Currently, we are about 600-700 pages into the book which is the halfway point just like the show.
Also, read the book! It's damn good and just as engaging as the show is.

I think this mini series is excellent! The acting, writing and cinematography is all spot on.
The latest episode is where Blackthorne comes to grips with how different the culture is. The realization that his words caused the death of the gardener is his turning point.
