Yeah this show is really well done. I wonder how it compares to the 80s tv miniseries that was on when I was a kid. And Mariko

in the show you can see her express many things for him in better words, or even change his insults into something respectful to praise them
and im sure he knows this as he has seen their strange reactions to her words dont fit what he said

it was very common to take any solid object considered as trash, and stick in a cannon
they used broken bits of metal as well as broken eating utensils too and it comes out like a shotgun blast that was deadly in close quarters where the enemy is grouped closely together

They are both really good even if they differ in certain ways.
Both are worth a watch and the 80s version has aged pretty well, the hard part is finding it.
