You can't count last year he had zero scholarship player so this is his first year and we are staring the NIT in the face.

You should take a breath and go back to see what he was left with. Not a figure of speech, but he literally started with 0 scholly players.

He had two starters from an NCAA tournament team.

One of which started on a number 1 seed in the ncaa tournament.

He has had open transfers as well.

He has one more year. If he does not get in the NCAA
next year. He is gone.

McMahon rebuilt again this year because his previous team wasn't good enough. If he can regularly put SEC level teams together, including recruiting useful players out of high school, he should be able to avoid a total rebuild every season.

Not counting Ole Miss because they are the only SEC team who made a coaching change last year, the average number of transfers out per SEC team after last season was 3.5. LSU is going to lose at least 4 players from this team (Baker, Hannibal, Dean, Wright) because they are out of eligibility. So even if LSU stays on the low end of the average number of transfers out (say 2), that still means McMahon is going to have to replace 6 players. If LSU has three or more guys transfer out that means he will be replacing over 50% of his roster. That's NOT meant to be a knock on McMahon. It's just the new reality of college basketball almost every coach faces. Starters and key players will leave just as easily as guys who didn't play at all...leaving a HC to have to rebuild a significantly new roster over and over. For lack of a better word, "rebuilding" yearly has kind of become the norm.

Please tell me you're not referring to Mwani and Adam Miller

Because Mwani looks like he's afraid to touch the basketball every time it comes his way and Miller never played for LSU before McMahon and was average at best last year.

Good grief. No, he is not. This is his second season after inheriting a mess. Some of you people really shouldn't post everything that enters your brain before thinking about what you're posting very seriously.

Sounds like something a good coach could fix.

He started on a team far better than any that McMahon has had here and didn’t look out of place

Did Miller start for a 1 seed in the ncaa tournament?

Simple question

Neither are here and I didn't speak of transfers. Transfers left as well.

So let me be clear, you think he took over a team that was solid contenders?

The administration is not going to fire MM for at least
3 more years. His contract is for 7 years ,so the buyout
is very prohibitive.Scott did that on purpose to have an
excuse to give him time to BUILD HIS PROGRAM.SW knew the
nervious nellys ,LSU FANS,would be ready to fire him after
his 1st loss.Plus he knew the WW supporters would be out in force with noose in hand early in MMs tenure.

Do we have fans that would seriously be ok with 3 more years of being an NIT bubble team, if that's what happens?

I'm not saying that they WILL be a NIT at best, but you are giving him 3 more regardless of anything. So if what we see this season is the ceiling, is that good enough for 3 more years?

One still is and the other left with eligibility left.

Continue to ignore that he is working in the easiest sport to rebuild quickly with an unprecedented ease in doing so with free transfers.

He's not getting 3 more years if the results are only the same or slightly better. Woodward has been pretty proactive in cutting loose a sinking ship in his time at LSU. So I don't think things would be any different for what should be LSU's second largest revenue generator. He fired O 1.5 years after probably the best season in LSU football history (and after giving O a big raise/extension). He "nudged" Maineri out even though he had back to back Super Regional appearances.

LSU had little negotiating leverage when they hired McMahon, so I'm CERTAIN the contract length were terms McMahon demanded. Not LSU. If Woodward would choose to fire McMahon after next year he would be looking at an $8-10M buyout. Relatively speaking that is not a huge number.

He hasn't been the same player since he tore labrums in both arms, even before that only averaged 4 PPG.

He only averaged 8 PPG for Illinois.

Have you not seen the improvement already? He is not going to be "on the clock" unless that improvement starts to falter.
