I'm not doubting you but is there data to show that the New Orleans public schools (charter schools) are the best they have been?

I've always been frustrated by the education system there and would love to see data showing things are improving.

Right now overall Orleans Parish schools are rated a "C"

That's made up of an "F" in overall scores, but an "A" in score progress improvement.

School Performance Score (SPS) was a 69.8. State average was 78.5.

In 2004, the year before Katrina, the old system was three stars, two stars, one star, or academic warning.

Orleans was one of two districts under academic warning. Their SPS was a 51.2, state average was 82.6.

So the parish relative to the state has gone from -31.4 to -8.7.
