Highest-ranked recruit to ever sign with LSU? I don't keep up with baseball recruiting but seems like LSU would've gotten a few #1 guys out of high school before this season.

Most #1 guys go straight to the pros. Getting a top 10 guy on campus is rare and huge.

#1 guys will always be going pro, Cam was ranked #11 by perfect game which those players almost never make it to campus.
Kling was #19
Tanks was #18
Crews was #13
Just for reference, those plus Johnson are the only Top 20 guys on PG rankings to make it to campus here in the last 13 classes (2011-2023)...and Tanks was a transfer.

I’m seeing a guy who tightens up his delivery and will be ridiculous in his time. Little too much left to right in his delivery right now not enough downhill. Which is scary if he’s hitting 97-98 with current mechanics

Johnson needs to work on his mechanics. That sidearm stuff is sloppy and going to be hard to throw strikes consistently.
If he continues to work on it and get more over the top he will be deadly
