People joke about it because, no offense, but at the end of the day he’s a fricking idiot.
Dude has a full ride to LSU, has people helping him, and he chose to be caught up in whatever he was. If this is all true, he’s an idiot and guess what? He isn’t a good person. To flip it, how could you possibly get offended with someone joking about it? You try to murder a couple of people, who takes up for them?

Your point? He is claiming he has a source not that he heard from townspeople about the rumor. If he said the rumor around town is ......, then fine.
Instead, he is making a concerted effort to point out he has a legit source in the PD there feeding him information.

Did he say that? He said his source was who broke the story earlier. Who broke story was the Farmersville Gazette on their Facebook page. Shortly thereafter it was confirmed by the PD he had been arrested

Why would anyone feel bad for Trey Holly.
As CatfishJohn has written in this tread, it is very easy to avoid shooting another person. If Holly went to someone else's apartment with a gun and then shot someone, he is the last person that anyone should feel sorry for. He did exactly what he wanted to do, and it was one of the worst things that any person can do. There is no rationalizing this type of act.
Many in this tread are acting like this was one bad decision. There were a number of ridiculous decisions that had to be made for this shooting to occur. It was a premeditated act of violence that no one should tolerate.
