Once EA got 2K out of the way it allowed them to do whatever. The NFL is to blame for this, they went to exclusive rights for EA and did not even let 2K bid on the deal. Once EA could do whatever, they jacked the price up and kept using the same things for everything. If there was competition and 2K and EA were doing NCAA FB, BB, and BSB, I feel we would get so much better quality and at differing price points, so the consumer would have choice in more than just the basics.

I don't understand it either, are they going to try to block the jersey number too? Create a blond kid named Art Manning and what can they do?

I don't get into video games as an adult, but I absolutely loved them as a kid. Literally wore out the processors on a late '70s Atari and early '80s Intellivision.
Both of those devices were invented by and brought to market by and played by boomers.

From a technical standpoint, stopping it/making it not worth the effort isn't hard. They simply haven't had much incentive to do so, until now.
It could be as easy as placing a hidden block that they activate to not allow create-a-players in any specific position group in CFB that doesn't have a player signed on. Say Alabama gets a linebacker who doesn't want to be in the game-- its not super hard to simply block people from creating a new Texas QB or Alabama LB.

I used to play the game online allll the time. I have an xbox one and had no reason to get a new system, that is until this was announced. Heres to hoping EA doesnt make me out to be a fool.

i'm going to go against my better judgement and give EA one last shot, and i'll get the college game, but i dunno, something in my gut is telling me do NOT be surprised if it's a broken piece of shite like the last couple of years of Madden have been... i didn't even get Madden this year b/c its just been a wonky, incomplete mess of a game for a few years straight, but the draw of a college football game, playing as LSU, recruiting, and watching players progress, etc, it's just too big for me, and i'll reluctantly get the game, but if it's shite, it will literally be the last dollar EA ever gets out of me, period
