Yup. It’s a private school. They can do what they want.

WM is private? Because if a parent is paying for it, not the taxpayer, it would seem to be an accepted option, but then that would be Select under present rules

Of course, like welfare, leave it up to degenerates to take advantage of a situation.

Everybody here knows a guy that was slow, or went through a traumatic period mentally or physically and was held back

Obviously WM is a team of these special exceptions. Not a good thing, IMO

First off congrats to wm, told yall would take monumental effort to beat them, they are absolutely loaded. Great team and they kicked Barbes arse tonight. I don’t want to hear about the old players, who both rode with what we had and theirs was better this year, period.

As far as who barbe has returning

Lose Diego, lose galt, lose bellard, lose Guidry at first. Think everyone else is returning that is every day player. Lose some backups.

Of course Diego, galt and bellard will be big losses but all can be replaced.

Catholic baseball finishes the year 38-2. Only one loss to a Louisiana team. Swept 5a public champ West Monroe 3-0. Playoff scores below:

8-1
15-2
5-0
8-0
10-0
5-0

51-3 combined

Hangover haven, accept the fact you just witnessed the greatest Louisiana high school baseball season ever and a #1 national finish

Just some 19 year olds with another ring. Cry about it

Why was this directed at me? I didn’t complain once about the older players. They are all within the rules

The only negative about the season was not getting to pound Rummel to finish off the national title.

They would have struggled to get a single game Peej

When I was 18 I played 15 year old Ryan Harrison who was number 1 in the world in juniors. He ended up being top 50 in the world

6-0,6-0 with ease. The age gap was too much. 19 and 15 is even more of a gap

The number 1 ranked 15 year old in US is Jack Kennedy. He has the highest junior ITF ranking for 15 year olds and he is not in top 10 in the world. His UTR (12.94) is the same or higher than almost everyone on LSUs roster. He would not get blanked “easy” by LSU players.

According to your player bio, you were 19 when you played at Memphis as a freshman, where you had a losing record, sat out as a soph (20), then transferred to LSU the next. i find it unbelievable that given your junior record, you would even beat the no1 player in the world, much less easily.

You can happily look up Ryan Harrison and his age compared to mine and his world ranking as well And I said he eventually became top 50 in the world, his career high was exactly 40

quote:

Before turning 16, Harrison was regarded as a prodigy after cracking the top 10 in the junior rankings and becoming one of the youngest players ever to win an ATP match.

Harrison birthday is early 1992 and mine late 87. We are slightly over 4 years a part, exactly what this scenario is discussing

If you want to try and be a compete piece of shite outing people on this website, keep digging and find out the actual facts

And frick it, why don’t you look up my match clinching wins vs Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and Tennesse while you are at it

Post some pictures too

you bio says you were playing at Memphis as a 19 year old in the same year Harrison notched an ATP win over world 130 ranked as a 15 year old. Maybe you beat Ryan Harrison at some point in your junior career in La, but i suspect if it was 6-0 6-0 like you claim, maybe you were the 15 year old and he was 10 or 11. The scenario would make more sense.

I beat him 4 times , all in 2005 and 2006. As I stated, I was 18 the last time I played him

Pearson is currently 19 and 7 months against a 15 year old. I was 18 years and 6 months the last time I played Harrison, and we were 4 years and I think 3 months apart I think

ETA:

I was 18 and he was 14 the last we played. Seems pretty equivalent to 19 vs 15

If you want to keep looking me up Ryan wasn’t my best win. I also beat future world number 23 Sam Querry who was the same age as me

The Winter Park game was an 8am first pitch on a Sunday. 4th game in 3 days after beating 2 top 10 national teams. WP’s 2nd or 3rd game that weekend. Lost on a passed ball. 4-3 I think.

Schmidt was a scratch at Mandeville because he was sick and they lost. He came back 2 days later and run ruled them.

Incredible season that was very close to perfect.

Like any loophole it gets abused. Perhaps if the state or the NFHS should address it - under the current laws kids must be 5 before sept 30 to start K. Any kid that would put them older than that age window as a senior should get varsity eligibility at such a time as they would not be outside that age window as a senior.

It’s legal but so is cheating on your spouse but that doesn’t mean it’s right.

Heck even travel ball limits the number of “grade exemptions” a team can have.

I feel bad for the kids whose parents don’t hold them back and they get out by a player 1-2 years older.

There was a time when football programs listed ages - maybe we need to go back to that.

Law just went into effect for 2022-23 school year - prior to that kindergarten was not required by law in Louisiana.
