I don’t have a dog in the Barbe/Mandeville beef on TD, but you barbe people are so unlikeable. And yea, I realize that Rob guy wasn’t an angel in this thread, but yall really do look down on other teams/schools. I know yall don’t want to hear that and will have some form of rebuttal but it’s true. Schools like yall, WM, Curtis, Catholic, etc, who have all the resources in the world aren’t on the same playing field as everyone else, and for some reason that makes yall act like a bunch of pretentious assholes to other people. It’s absurd

For example Jesuit has been dominant across certain sports. While they got called gay or queers etc, they weren’t ever called “trashy” “assholes” etc.

And when they do get one they deal with.

Although that one time their baseball team was playing a former HC pitcher who left because of trouble over pics on his phone….. the Jesuit kids at the game with their phones out was pretty funny.

When someone asked me about the difference between J and cath I had an easy answer - a certain Rb from C would never have been admitted to J. And if by chance he was, he would not have lasted long.

i was nice as could be to him before the series, still havent been mean. I said i thought mandeville would take game 1. i also said if barbe wins this year, is Cechinini''s best coaching job.

but lets stop acting liking WM and Barbe somehow were blessed with some natural inclination to be bigger and better.

barbe didnt even have an outfield fence when their current coach was hired 38 years ago. he built the program and raised the money himself

WM hasnt always been some great program. they won the 99 ship but didnt really become a huge player in baseball consistently year in and year out until like 1996. They, like barbe, have raised money and gotten community buy in through getting involved in the youth scenes in the area.

neither school is like a texas school with independent school district. and they certainly are not like Sulphur and Westlake with huge tax bases that feed into the rec program where the rec can pay for facilities.......they have done it organically.

any team can do that. Look how many other teams Barbe has to contend with to raise money....Sulphur, Sam Houston, St Louis, Westlake, Iowa, Dequincy, South Beua and that is just the programs that made at least the quarters from our little 250k metro area.

and lets not act like monroe area is some big metro area with money flowing all over the place.

if those two schools can do it, what is stopping schools like those from the AP from just buying in and dominating? Lot more money there.

Were you around at that time? Do you recall who knocked Barbe out in Quarters at North Park and in regional round the next year, his first seasons?

And thanks for the updates on the games

Sounds like Latino has resigned from BM. We’ll see what happens to the head coach soon I’m sure.

Thx for the update. Maybe we should start another thread for scores and updates and get away from this crybaby bullshite. There are some really good games to be played over the next several days.

NISH when he was an asst, and he may have been HC for the 2nd one

Incredibly good games

I remember them well

'87 and '88

ETA: Glen remembers them well too. Every detail. I've had conversations with him about those games, and it's scary how much he remembers little details.

right now its 7-3 St louis bases loaded in 5th with 2 outs. STM pitcher has gotten wild.

They still have a good bit of “bleed off” of quality players to private schools in neighboring parishes - even to SCC
