He's actually perfectly fine. He wasn't a hard thrower and threw a breaking ball correctly. I'm all in favor of pitch count rules, though.

Emerson Gibbs threw 190+ pitches against Rummel in 2012. His counterpart, Mitch Seward, threw 154.

Pretty sure there was a TD thread on that. Everyone was bashing the coaches and old Lester was carrying that Raider flag

Lester probably has posters of Jeff Winchester, Brandon Barthel, Martin Larocca, Thomas Diamond, Ray Liotta, and Xavier Paul hanging in his room.

Benton is scrappy.

Haha scrappy is such a backhanded insult to a high school team… you’d think it would be a positive thing, but when I hear it I think of a team that just isn’t as good as others

Scrappy refers to coaching more than talent. A team can be less talented and refuse to strike out, take extra bases, never quitting even when down late in the game. Every team can be scrappy. Even talented ones. But there aren't a lot of them out there.

They’re not. They’re definitely a notch below the 3 nationally ranked teams that remain. Doesn’t mean they can’t win a single game of baseball. That’s just baseball…

Agreed. Scrappy means they can throw and catch and won’t beat themselves but generally lack overall talent

I've seen enough complaints about the word "scrappy" that I'm not using it for the time being.

ETA: Quitman and Avoyelles Public Charter both won their semis

If Weston wins today it’ll be an inner parish/district rivalry playing for state.
